Dr. Leila (Schubiger) Lindquist, DC was born in Switzerland and attended Medical School at University of Zuerich until she realized, that she wanted to treat her patients "from the inside out" by finding the cause of the problem instead of just addressing symptoms the allopathic way. While learning about Alternative Health care options she came across the Science, Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic and it all made perfectly sense to her. Chiropractic was exactly what Dr. Leila envisioned health care should be all about. She decided to learn the profession from the best and she was thankful, that her grades allowed her getting enrolled at the Birthplace and Fountainhead of Chiropractic: Palmer College in Davenport, IA.
While in College, Leila met a Mining Engineer with Swedish Heritage and soon after her earning her Doctorate in Chiropractic they got married and moved to his new place of work: Metropolis, IL.
Dr. Leila and her husband Lars have three daughters, Svenja, Yolina and LivAdiva.
This year, Dr. Leila celebrates her 10 year anniversary of her alternative health care clinic: Chiropractic Works.
She and her husband Lars also founded, own and operate THOR'S GYM in Metropolis.
In 2005 DR. Leila was awarded the "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" Award by the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce. She is currently the President of the Metropolis Rotary Club and enjoys participating in civic activities in both her local community and internationally.
She loves her job as well as being a mom. Her hobbies include Yoga, Lecturing on Wellness, Sailing, Inline Skating, playing Wii Fit and electric Guitar.
